Whats going on?</h2></div></div></div><p>The <span lang="ru" class="foreignphrase"><em lang="ru" class="foreignphrase">самовар</em></span> samovar has become something of a Russian national symbol. Contrary to what many foreigners think, the samovar holds only heated water; the <span lang="ru" class="foreignphrase"><em lang="ru" class="foreignphrase">заварка</em></span> concentrated tea is usually in а <span lang="ru" class="foreignphrase"><em lang="ru" class="foreignphrase">чайник</em></span> small teapot which sits on top of the samovar, where it stays warm. Russians make tea by pouring the tea concentrate into a cup or glass and diluting it with boiling water. You'll often be asked: «<span lang="ru" class="foreignphrase"><em lang="ru" class="foreignphrase">Вам покрепче, или послабее?</em></span>» "Do you like yours strong or weak?"</p><p>If you're purchasing any type of antiques in the <span lang="ru" class="foreignphrase"><em lang="ru" class="foreignphrase">комиссионный</em></span> second­hand store or <span lang="ru" class="foreignphrase"><em lang="ru" class="foreignphrase">художественный салон</em></span> art gallery/store, be sure you ask if what you're buying may be taken out of the country.
