Comment: 把 ba3 is a very common measure word. It is not unusual in any way. It is only included in the grammar section so that you can learn to recognize 把 as a measure word and differentiate if from 把 when it is used in the ba construction. Because 把 is used for things that are handled, have a handle, occur in bunches, are grasped, etc., it occurs quite frequently.

bunch, bundle  (measure word for things of the same kind fastened together -- bananas, chopsticks, spinach, radish, scallions -- spoken with the reflexive "r" but not usually written)
