Shanghai - The Bund, Pudong, Children's Palace

The history of Shanghai is tied to today. Modern Shanghai and Old Shanghai face each other across the Huangpu River. They can be seen as at war with one another or as two aspects of the same development triggered by a fertile countryside and access to China via the Yangtze. If you click on the images below you will get a touch of history and a touch of the modern economic changes in Shanghai. Images link to major topics so you can find information more easily. General information about Shanghai is on the main page. This page is part of the China Experience website.
