- Wang Wenzhi was born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. His designated name was Yuqing </font><font size="-0" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">禹卿</font><font size="-1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> and his<br>
- literary name was Menglou </font><font size="-0" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">梦楼</font><font size="-1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">. He was very interested in stone stele and the rubbings from ancient<br>
- inscriptions. During the Qing Dynasty there were a number of major archeological finds that renewed<br>
- interest in the ancient forms of calligraphy and carving.<br>
